JeevanVikasSanstha was founded at Tasgaon in 1964. Late Hon.Shri.S.J.Kutte,Hon.Shri. K.Y.Kolekar,Hon.Shri.M.G.Page, Hon.Shri.R.R.Divate, Hon.Shri.S.N.Karade, Hon.Shri.G.R.Mahamuni, Hon. Shri.D.N.Godabole,Hon.Shri.C.Y.Pore, Hon.Smt.K.K.Kolekar etc.These eminent personalities, along with some others, founded the JeevanVikasSanstha In the inspiration of Late Hon.Shri.V.S. Page. They nurtured it through the changing vicissitudes of history at great personal risks and inconveniences. After the foundation, it has been continuously growing, always refurbishing its methods, and branching out from time to time to meet new needs. True to the ideals of its founders, it has, over the years, tried to integrate the physical and mental development of its students. JVS reflects the original concern of its founders, which was to encourage the indigenous roots of education. It has cherished and has continued to encourage a criticalappreciation of the State’s history and culture and also the history of Hindu with its rich cultural and intellectual traditions. It seeks to foster a national and cosmopolitanperspective in its academic programs as well as in co- curricular activities. The objectives of the JVS are to disseminate advance knowledge and provide instructional, research and extension facilities in various branches of learning. The JVS endeavors to provide the students and teachers with the necessary atmosphere and facilities for the promotion of:
(i) Innovations in education through restructuring of courses, new methods of teaching and learning leading to integrated development of personality,
(ii) Studies in various disciplines, inter-disciplinary studies, and
(iii)Nationalintegration, secularism andinternational understanding With all its faculties,JVS is moving fast towards achievinga goal of excellence in education and research at different levels. JVS offersnumerous courses in various disciplines at various levels.
